SBTC Program of Work
The Trails Council is actively engaged in working on trails throughout the front country — ranging from Gaviota on the West to the Carpinteria Valley on the east. This includes development of management documents, trail survey, mapping and planning efforts, fund raising efforts and trail rehabilitation programs. Among them are those listed below.
| Trail Mapping |
SBTC is in the process of developing a library of maps, digital images and trail descriptions for Santa Barbara County. Over time we hope to have maps and route descriptions for every trail within the County. |
| Ellwood Mesa |
Ellwood Mesa is one of the most scenic open spaces within the Goleta Valley. SBTC is working with the City of Goleta in a review of the recreation element for the Mesa that was developed in 2004 and in restoration projects to improve the trails and eliminate areas of severe erosion. |
